How to remove gum, paint, tar and lipstick stains from carpet and upholstery!
There is an old saying that often comes up when discussing how to remove gum and that is "put ice on it"! We tried this method and it doesn't work. If you freeze it hard enough to get it to break off, maybe you could take a hammer and smash it. But you won't really get anything but cold fingers! The best way to remove gum
carpet stains
from carpet or upholstery is by using a product with an orange peel base. The orange peel base oil has a strong, but pleasant, orange aroma. More importantly though it will dissolve chewing gum, paint, tar and lipstick. We recommend cutting into the gum or paint and applying the orange peel based oil product. After the product has completely dissolved the stained area, the area should be thoroughly rinsed and all residue extracted. It may take quite some time for the gum, paint, tar or lipstick to dissolve. Repeating the process may be necessary. After treating the affected area, it is very important to rinse and remove all residue from the carpet or upholstery. If you don't feel comfortable trying this by yourself, a professional might be a better choice. Call us today at 877-711-6367!
